Wishes & Hopes

Hi All,

Welcome to Kshetra Puranas @ Blogspot. This has been a page that I have dreamt about for many many months, which finally came into being, the way I wanted it, only today (Vikrutha Margazhi Krishna Paksha Chaturthi!!!) - a fitting example to show that time has the answer to every question and the fruition to every dream. I happen to be a person who is seriously in love with the rich tradition, culture and heritage that has been handed down to us over millennia - grand moms to grandchildren style!!! India happens to abound with a magic, divine and soul stirring, woven into beautiful stories, myths and legends, invoking a feeling of the god-within (I miss those things here in the US). Amply supported by temples dotting the entire subcontinent, each with its dedicated deity and prescribed rituals, these stories form the very basis of a civilization that is one of the most ancient and learned in the world. These stories struck my awe quite early in my life, and over the years I have taken a profound interest in these myths, searching deeper and deeper, tying them together and separating them apart. And this has resulted in vast amounts of information circulating around my cerebellum and medulla oblongota. Kumudham Bhakthi, Shakthi Vikatan, the many Scriptures, Puranas and Ithihasas, along with the recent splurge of websites have helped me in keeping this interest alive and burning. Now, seeking a more organized way to store my memories, I turn to the blogs, for they would not only help me in keeping them organised but would also aid in sharing this rich treasure-house of culture with others of similar interests. Within these digital pages, you may stumble across Sthala Puranas, exotic rituals, interesting tit-bits, and intriguing articles on historical, mysterious and legendary happenings in the temples that are strewn across the body of India. A word or two on Indian culture, the many festivals, various slokas and possibly, even some mouthwatering religious cuisines, may find their way into these archives. It is my very hope and belief that these articles kindle your interest and help us all in keeping the fire of our culture stoked and burning.
